Six Peaks makes running visibility and carry gear — the small kit that makes running on unlit Irish roads through the winter both safer and more comfortable.

McSport Ireland stocks Six Peaks within our running and jogging accessories range.

  • Running LED Chest Lamp — forward-facing light that follows your eye line rather than bouncing on your head
  • LED Clip-On Lights — attach to a vest, waistband or bag for 360-degree visibility to traffic
  • Running Vest with Phone Holder — secure phone carry without an armband, so no arm restriction on longer runs
  • Built for dark evenings — the practical answer to training through an Irish winter on unlit roads

Running safely on Irish roads

Most Irish rural and suburban roads have no footpath and no street lighting. Being seen from both directions is the single highest-value purchase a winter runner makes. See also our outdoor fitness range.

Chest lamp or head torch for running?

A chest lamp sits lower and more stably than a head torch, so the beam bounces less with each stride and casts longer shadows on uneven ground — which actually makes potholes and kerbs easier to read. Head torches are better where you need to look around independently of your direction of travel.

Do I need lights as well as reflective clothing?

Yes. Reflective material only works when a car's headlights are already pointed at you. Active LED lights make you visible from further away and from angles headlights do not cover.
