Cumas is an Irish hurling coaching brand built around one idea: more touches per minute. Its training aids — pole trainers, sliotars on cords and wall balls — are designed so a player can repeat a skill hundreds of times without chasing the ball.

At McSport Ireland, Cumas sits alongside Uwin hurleys and O'Neills sliotars as a complete hurling and camogie development setup for clubs, schools and individual players.

  • Pole Trainer — hand-held hurling coaching aid, 2 per pack, for striking and rising technique
  • Groundskills — 8 sliotars on cords for high-repetition ground striking practice
  • Wall Ball 12 pack — durable balls for solo wall practice and first touch
  • Lineballs set — dedicated practice for cutting the sideline ball

Cumas: common questions

What is a hurling pole trainer? A hand-held aid that holds the sliotar in position so a player can repeat the strike, rise or lift without needing a partner or retrieving the ball. It multiplies the number of quality touches in a solo session.

Why practise wall ball? Wall ball is the traditional foundation of hurling skill — it develops first touch, hand-eye coordination and striking off both sides at high repetition. A 12 pack means a group can work simultaneously without stopping to collect balls.

Are Cumas aids suitable for camogie? Yes. The skills trained — striking, rising, ground work and lineball cutting — are common to both codes, and the aids are used across hurling and camogie coaching.
