Carlton badminton: common questions

What does shuttlecock speed mean? Speed refers to how far the shuttle flies for a given hit, and it is matched to hall conditions. Slow shuttles suit warm halls at altitude, medium is the general-purpose speed for most Irish sports halls, and fast suits cold halls where the shuttle drops sooner.

Nylon or feather shuttles? Nylon shuttles last many times longer and are the correct choice for schools and training. Feather shuttles give a truer flight and sharper deceleration for competition, but a tube may only last a few games.
