The BOSU Ball Balance Trainer is a half-dome trainer — the name is an acronym for "Both Sides Up" — with an inflated dome on one side and a rigid flat platform on the other. Used dome-up it challenges balance and ankle stability; flipped platform-up it becomes an unstable surface for pressing, planks and squats.

McSport Ireland stocks the BOSU Commercial / Pro model, the gym-grade version rated for studio and PT use, as part of our balance and co-ordination range.

BOSU at McSport Ireland

The Commercial / Pro BOSU is the model specified for gyms, physio clinics and studios in Ireland because it is built for repeated daily use rather than occasional home training.

What is a BOSU ball used for?

A BOSU is used to train balance, core stability, proprioception and lower-limb strength. It is used in general fitness, sport-specific conditioning and physiotherapy rehabilitation.

What is the difference between the BOSU Pro and the home model?

The Commercial / Pro version uses a heavier-duty dome and platform rated for continuous gym and studio use, and carries a longer commercial warranty. The home model is built for lighter, intermittent use.
