Glass Bottle is a 37.2 acre development located in Dublin 4. The design, planning and delivery of the two residential gyms at Block O & Block L of the Glass Bottle are driven by the development team at Lioncor. This hugely significant site will provide approximately 3,800 much needed new homes in a fantastic location abutting the bay and minutes from the city centre and Dublin's silicon docks.

McSport was commissioned to deliver a premium, turnkey gym facility at Glass Bottle - designed to offer its residents a first-class fitness experience from day one. The brief was clear: create a high-performance space that caters for all levels and users, finished to the highest standard and fully branded to reflect the identity of the development. Spanning 20 metres by 12 metres and completed in just five days, the result is a standout residential facility that sets a new benchmark for premium communal fitness spaces - covering every type of training under one roof.

Planning & Preparation

From the outset, McSport worked closely with the Glass Bottle team to plan a facility that would serve a wide range of residents - from first-time gym users to seasoned athletes - without compromising on quality or aesthetic.

Key Design Considerations:

Equipment Excellence: The specification centred on Life Fitness cardio equipment with SE4 Consoles, delivering an intuitive, connected workout experience, alongside ICG Indoor Cycles for a premium studio cycling offering.
Strength Training. A dedicated strength area was equipped with Exigo upper and lower body machines, providing residents with a comprehensive, commercial-grade strength training offering built for long-term performance and durability..
Hybrid Training Zone: A dedicated hybrid training space was incorporated into the layout, ensuring the facility caters for functional training, conditioning, and everything in between - covering every type of training in one cohesive environment.
Flooring & Surface: A full flooring and custom astro turf installation was completed to specification, with bespoke branding and colours woven throughout - creating a cohesive, visually striking environment from floor to ceiling.
Bespoke Branding: All equipment was customised with the development's logos and brand colours, including custom branded turf, ensuring the facility feels distinctly Glass Bottle -premium, considered, and built to impress.
Turnkey Delivery: Every element of the fit-out was planned and executed by McSport, providing a single, seamless solution from initial design through to handover.

Installation Process

The McSport installation team executed a seamlessly coordinated fit-out across the 240 square metre space, completing the full project from start to finish within a week. Once the 3D mock-up of the floor space was designed and approved, we got to work on the gym.

Process Steps:

Delivery & Inspection: All Life Fitness cardio, SE4 Consoles, ICG bikes, flooring, and custom astro turf were delivered to site and thoroughly inspected ahead of installation.
Flooring & Surface Installation: Custom flooring and branded astro turf were laid first, establishing the visual foundation of the facility.
Equipment Assembly & Placement: Cardio and cycling equipment was assembled and positioned in accordance with the agreed layout, ensuring an efficient training flow and a premium look throughout.
Branding & Finishing: Custom logos and brand colours were applied across equipment and turf, completing the personalised finish the brief required..
Final Calibration & Handover: All equipment was fully calibrated, SE4 Consoles configured and tested, Glass Bottle logo added to screens, and a final walkthrough completed before handover - all within the five-day window.
