Giving Back to the Community We're Part Of

At McSport, sport and fitness isn't just our business - it's our belief. We believe in the power of movement to transform lives, and that belief drives us to invest in the communities around us. From grassroots schools programmes to elite athlete initiatives, here's how we're putting that into action.

We're proud to work alongside some incredible people and organisations who share our passion for sport, fitness, and community. Whether it's getting kids active, supporting youth development, or backing national champions giving back to their roots - McSport is there.

Backing a Champion Who Gives Back

When Olympic gold medallist Kellie Harrington brought a community fitness day to Dublin’s north inner city, McSport was proud to supply the equipment. The first D1 Fit Fest took place in 2025 at Aldborough Place, bringing adults and children together for fitness challenges including running, lifting, squatting, jumping and throwing.

With boxing demonstrations and kids’ challenges alongside intense team workouts, the event inspired families and neighbours to get active together. It was a brilliant celebration of community, fitness and togetherness.

"The event wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for the great help of businesses supporting it, like McSport supplying the fitness equipment. This is what makes us grow as a community, days like this, bringing everyone together and pushing each other on." - Kellie Harrington

Inspiring the Next Generation to Move More

For the past two years, McSport has proudly supported The Stables’ Fittest Schools competition, an exciting initiative helping young people get active and engaged in physical health.

Participants take on obstacles, running, ziplines and strength challenges in a fun, energetic day. Each year, we provide goodie bags for 100 participants and a €500 McSport voucher for the winning school to spend on PE and sports equipment. We’re passionate about supporting sport in schools and helping keep young people active long after the competition ends.

Supporting Youth Sport Where It Counts

McSport was delighted to support the Athlete Academy with equipment for their rugby Easter camps at Wanderers RFC, helping young players develop their skills, confidence and passion for sport. In April 2026, two weeks of camps welcomed 130 players aged 12–18, all committed to their rugby development.

We believe every young person deserves access to quality equipment and great coaching, and we’re proud to support the next generation of Irish rugby players while helping them build teamwork, discipline and dedication through sport.

Powering the Pedals for SVP

Every year, Blackrock College Transition-Year students take on the 24hr Cyclotron, a gruelling relay-style cycling challenge raising funds for St. Vincent de Paul. It’s a powerful example of young people combining endurance, teamwork and determination to support those in need.

McSport has proudly sponsored the event for over 10 years, supplying the bikes that keep students moving through the night. For us, it’s a partnership that reflects our commitment to community and supporting causes that bring people together.

Support for The Big Build Ireland

The Big Build Ireland celebrates Ireland’s community spirit, bringing together volunteers, tradespeople and suppliers to transform the homes of families facing serious illness, disability or life-changing challenges. McSport was delighted to contribute to a 2026 episode supporting a family following the loss of their father.

As part of the home transformation, we supplied rugby equipment for five-year-old Oran, helping create a space that supports his passion for the sport and bringing a little joy to the family during a difficult time.
