McSport was commissioned to deliver the gym fit-out at Irish Life's flagship corporate headquarters - now home to 3,000 employees and recognised as the largest corporate wellness facility in Europe.

The brief extended far beyond a standard gym installation:
McSport acted as product and specification consultants across the entire sports and wellness facility, advising on everything from the swimming pool and sports hall to the spin room, squash courts, and gym floor. Spanning 20 metres by 10 metres and completed in just three days, the gym itself stands as a world-class corporate fitness destination in its own right.

Planning & Preparation

Given the scale and ambition of the project, McSport's involvement began at the specification stage - working alongside Irish Life and Fitvision teams to ensure every element of the wider sports and wellness facility met the highest standards of quality, performance, and functionality.

Key Design Considerations:

  • Full Specification Consultancy: McSport provided expert guidance across all areas of the wellness facility - swimming pool, sports hall, spin room, gym, and squash courts - ensuring a cohesive, premium offering throughout.
  • Equipment Excellence: The gym specification combined Life Fitness cardio and strength equipment, ICG bikes with Kiosk, and Hammer Strength plate-loaded and performance equipment - delivering one of the most comprehensive corporate gym offerings in Ireland.
  • Branded Personalisation: Power racks were custom branded with the Irish Life identity, reinforcing the company's commitment to employee wellbeing and adding a distinctive, personal touch to the space.
  • Efficient Delivery: Despite the scale and complexity of the project, the gym fit-out was completed in just three days - a reflection of the meticulous planning undertaken in advance.

Installation Process

The McSport installation team delivered a precisely coordinated fit-out across the 200 square metre gym space, completing the full installation in three days without disruption to the wider facility.

Process Steps:

  1. Delivery & Inspection: All Life Fitness cardio, Life Fitness strength, ICG bikes with Kiosk, and Hammer Strength plate-loaded and performance equipment were delivered to site and inspected ahead of installation.
  2. Equipment Assembly & Placement: All strength, cardio, and cycling equipment was assembled and positioned according to the agreed layout, ensuring an efficient training flow throughout the space.
  3. Branded Finishing: Power racks were finished with Irish Life branding, completing the personalised look and feel of the facility.
  4. Final Calibration & Handover: All equipment was fully calibrated and tested, with ICG Kiosks configured and a final walkthrough completed before handover — all within the three-day window.

The final stage of the handover process was an interactive ICG bike and Kiosk training session led by a Life Fitness expert. Members of Irish Life were put through their paces in a high-energy spin class, while being introduced to the full suite of features that make the ICG system stand apart. The ICG Connect platform allows riders to track and analyse their performance data in real time, syncing seamlessly with the Kiosk display to monitor power output, cadence, heart rate, and calories. The Coach by Colour system takes the guesswork out of training intensity - using a simple colour-coded zone system that guides riders through structured intervals, making it accessible for first-time cyclists and experienced athletes alike. Together, the ICG Connect app, Coach by Colour, and Kiosk create a fully immersive, data-driven training experience that brings the energy and structure of a boutique spin studio directly to the Irish Life wellness facility.
