There are a range of Pilate’s blocks to choose from; you can for instance use a smaller block for under your head. This raises your head in a reclining posture in order to gain correct neck and spinal alignment. If you use a larger block underneath the pelvis, this levels the pelvis for better postures throughout the class.

There are many benefits to practicing Pilates; you become stronger, longer, leaner and far more able to do all you need to with grace and ease. The exercises have been established to be easily modified, so that the workout is safe and challenging at each individual’s level. Core muscles are the deep internal muscles of the abdomen and back. When the core muscles are strong, it works in tandem with the trunk muscles to support the spine and movement. Making sure that your back and stomach areas are active will make you energetic and more agile, whilst also improving your flexibility in the Pilates class. If you have a back injury, you will find that pain decreases, because the stability of the core muscles is activated and continually in use.
